My top 10 favorite Batman film meme

Description

I've done a favorite cartoon/anime and a video game meme so I thought I would have a go at a film one though I've only stuck to one film franchise. The Batman films have always been some of my most favorite films, and Batman is my favorite super hero from DC, Marvel or whatever. So here is my top 10 Batman films in order as they are in the grid. I've not seen some of the more recent animated Batman films as some may wonder why there not on here. So I did run out of films so Batman & Robin did make it on the list (though it is last :XD: ) be warned there will be spoilers. Starting with first ->

1st Batman 1989. This has always been my true definition of Batman. Michael Keaton plays Batman perfectly and despite how amazing Heath Ledger portrayed the Joker in The Dark Knight, Jack Nicholson is my belief the true definition of the Joker, his take and acting is simply amazing (in my opinion Jack Nicholson is the greatest actor of all time regardless of a Batman film or not). This was a big gamble for Warner Bros back in 89 and no one knew if it would be a success or not. With a relatively young unknown director (being Tim Burton) it was a huge risk, but it payed off greatly with this film being one of the biggest box office record films of its time. Though The Dark Knight Rises has the biggest box office gross for a Batman film (due to ticket inflation), Batman 89 still sold more tickets than any other Batman film. Despite being over 20 years old the film has aged greatly and its special effects though a little dated still stand up well. I can understand that some Batman fans didn't like that Batman killed people or the fact that Joker killed Bruce's parents or Alfred letting Vickie into the Batcave but these are just minor things and take nothing away from the film itself. Every director wants to bring something new to a film and Tim Burton did a fantastic job with this film. Not to mention the now legendary Danny Elfman score. So yeah this is my favorite Batman film of all time!

2nd Batman Forever. Now this may shock some people with Batman Forever being second on my list but I simply love this film despite what people say about it. This was one of the first films I ever saw at the cinema back in 1995 and though it was 18 years ago and I was very small I still remember it very well and its remained one of my all time favorites since then. I was blown away by it and there was a point where me and my friend would watch it every single day :XD: its definitely the Batman film that I've seen the most. Despite what the critics had to say this film was a massive success generating $53 million in its opening weekend which at the time was the biggest ever in box office history. I like Val Kilmer as Batman, I like the moody, broody approach he brought to the series. Also with strong performances by Tommy Lee Jones, Nicole Kidman and of cause Jim Carry which many say stole the show and I don't blame them, Jim is fantastic in his role as The Riddler. I'd recommend getting the special edition of this film to see the deleted scenes such as Harvy's escape from Arkam and Riddler killing Stickly the full scene.

3rd The Dark Knight. my favorite out of the Christopher Nolan films. I can't fault this film, it truly is a great classic now. There is not much I need to say that you will not know whether its Heath Ledger's Oscar performance to Christian Bale's Batman.

4th Batman Returns Tim Burton's 2nd and last time in the director chair for a Batman film though he would be the producer for Batman Forever. Michael Keaton would once again don the Bat Suit and return. I love this film and if it was not for the Dark Knight then this would be 3rd. Danny Devitio is amazing and truly takes the Penguin persona to a believable approach, he even kept in character when not filming. Adding Catwoman to the mix added even more electricity to the film. it did get stated as being too dark, I dunno I thought this film rocked "it could be worse my nose could be gushing blood!"

5th Batman the Mask of the Phantasm. My first animated Batman film on the list and my favorite out of them. Based of the Batman cartoon series and voiced by the now veteran voice over actor Kevin Conroy as well as Mark Hamil as the Joker. This is a great classic and touched more on Bruce Wayne's love interest as well as some back story on the Joker. The final fight scene is very entertaining. You can get this film to next to nothing so I would highly recommend picking it up :)

6th Batman of the Future Return of the Joker. I was quite the fan of Batman on the future when it aired back when it aired on the old cartoon network's Toonami. The old Bruce Wayne and seeing how the new evolution of villains as well as how the older ones had turned out. So I was instantly excited to hear about this film, then finding out it would contain the returning Joker made me even more interested. This is a great film and features your classic Kevin Conroy's Batman and Mark Hamil's Joker. Its quite a dark film for an animated feature in fact the flash back sequence with classic Batman and Joker's final battle was altered and given 2 versions to the end of the fight as the original was to violent to be shown to children.

7th Batman Begins. The first in Christopher Nolan's trilogy. I like the reinvention that he took on Gotham city and the more human approach he took to the characters. Also the shock of Liam Neeson turning out to be Ras al Guel to the film was a great touch and leaved the "did I just see that right" feel to it. Great film though not as much reply value as Batman 89 for me ;P

8th The Dark Knight Rises. The latest Batman film out right now and the last in the Christopher Nolan trilogy. Though my least favorite from the 3 it does give you a good viewing experience to watching a movie. It did feel that it was plagued with a few plot holes here and there but I can live with that. But the ending I was not a fan off. Batman never getting the chance to finish Bane off properly didn't feel right. Despite what many fan's thought whether they liked or not its still the 8th highest box office grossing film to date.

9th Batman & Mr Freeze Sub Zero A very enjoyable animated Batman film from the TV series and featured quite dark side to Mr Freeze with the story of him in search for a donor for his wife. Another film you can pick up for next to nothing. Recommended it.

10th Batman & Robin I ran out of Batman films that I've seen so I had no choice but to turn to this. Though often voted as one of the worst films of all time, I have seen worse, its better than Twilight after all :XD: Now I am a big fan of Arnold Schwarzenegger but that alone cannot make me like this film, though I'm no fan of George Clooney and I can't personally stand his films ;P This was released I think far too close to the release of Batman Forever and people were expecting that they were seeing a true squeal to to it. You can't solely put all the blame to director Joel Schumacher as most do, as he was pressured by Warner Bros and the toy company's to make a more kid friendly Batman though he was the director and should have made more of the calls. It did have a terrible script (since when was Bane a henchman). It did get some overall good performances from some actors (definitely not BatGirl though), so perhaps if you have a different take when you see this film that your not going to film that takes itself seriously then you may take it at another angle. If this was released in the 60's then people may have loved it :XD: Joel did make an apology on behalf on the film which is quite a rare thing to see from a director for a slatted film. There's not really anything else good I can say about this film. One for the kids only I say for this ;P

That's the list. this took an absolute long time to write all this so I implore you if you made it this far with reading it :XD:

Nice list although I would have put Mask of the Phantasm at number one!
